POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT METERING TECHNOLOGY
Oval gear meters are installed in-line to provide visual indication of flow and facilitate accurate measurements. Fluid moving through meshed oval gears in the meter housing causes them to rotate. Accurate measurement is derived by counting gear rotations, utilizing an inductive proximity sensor that generates pulses based on each rotation. The model EGM is a larger version of the smaller model EGL oval gear meter based on the same metering technology. Both of these models provide for high visibility of oil flow through robust transparent covers.
CONVERTING ROTATIONS TO FLOW RATE
Oval gear meters are installed in-line to provide visual indication of flow and to facilitate accurate measurements. Fluid moving through meshed oval gears in the meter housing causes them to rotate. LUBRICATION SYSTEM APPLICATIONS
Model EGM flow meters are well suited to lubrication systems because of their insensitivity to viscosity variations caused by temperature fluctuations. Since oil temperature varies during different stages of operation, utilizing oval gear technology is preferable to conventional variable area flow meter measurement to achieve consistent and accurate monitoring of flows.
Like the model EGL, model EGM meters can be installed in lubrication systems incorporating custom numbers of meters, various combinations of sizes and custom configurations with ELP Lube Panels and ELS Lubrication Stations.
